OOTD - Hogwarts House: Slytherin

Third in the series of outfits inspired by the colours and crests of the different Hogwarts houses. I'm really enjoying this little challenge I have set myself I hope you are too!
Next up is Slytherin. I wanted this outfit to have a bit of attitude. A little bit cool and edgy. I hope it comes across.
First up make up. I debated going dark smokey eyes and dark lips. Giving my look a punk feel but I couldn't resist bringing in the house colours of green and silver with my eyeliner. I kept the rest of my make up nice and neutral so the colour on my eyes would pop!
The colours of my outfit were grey (instead of silver), green and black. Love these jeans they are the perfect way to introduce a big block of green to my outfit. Different shades of grey and textures adding a bit of interest to the outfit.
Have I mentioned I love the colour of these jeans?! I opted for my grey pumps today as it was too warm for my leather boots.
Everyone knows for instant cool simply add leather jacket and sunglasses! Ta dah! Ok I haven't mastered a super cool pout I'm just more of a cheesy grin kinda girl.
So here is the complete outfit. Easy, cool and casual Slytherin Pride! I hope you like it! If you don't my father will hear about this.

Much love

5 Fandom Friday - Fictional Vehicles I'd like to Travel In

Oh I have very much been looking forward to this 5 Fandom Friday! Here is my list for you to peruse and hopefully enjoy!

1. The TARDIS
My number one choice. Every single time. All of time and space where do I want to go?! EVERYWHERE. It's every Whovians dream!

2. The Hogwarts Express
Because if I was travelling on this to means I got my letter and I'm off to learn how to witchcraft and wizzardry!!

3. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Because I want to drive round singing the song! All together..... Oh you pretty Chitty Bang Bang, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang we love you..... Sorry if it's in your head now. Also it's a boat and flies all in all a pretty sweet ride!

4. The Helicarrier
It's a bad ass vehicle and because the Avengers are on it of course!! Also I might find Loki on board too which wouldn't be so bad would it really!

5. James Bond's Aston Martin.
Ok so I realise this is not a fictional vehicle. Aston Martin's do exist BUT as a huge petrol head I had to include the sexiest of all cars ever to be made ever. Fact. Synonymous with style, grace and utter class Aston Martin make beautiful cars for the worlds sexiest spy to drive and occasionally blow up. It does make me sad when they damage the cars.

This was a really fun list to do I loved it! I hope you enjoyed it too! Thank you as always to the ever so lovely Megan from The Nerdy Girlie and Kristin from Super Space Chick for starting the 5 Fandom Friday fun.

Much love

5 Fandom Friday: Things I Bought At A Convention

Right so here's the deal-io I went to my first convention in April this year! At which I bought 2 things apart from pictures and autographs. So this will be an interesting 5 Fandom Friday where I see what I can hunt out to be kinda sorta linked to this topic...... Let's start with the easy ones!

1. Baker Street Oyster Card Holder.
So my first con was Sherlocked in April. I loved it and you can read all about my adventures here. It was an epic experience. I bought myself a new Oyster card holder because I needed to keep my old one safe because I got Arthur Darvill (Clang - excuse me while I pick up that name I dropped) to sign it when I bumped into him in London.

2. Sherlocked Mug
I got this for my husband who is a very patient and understanding creature who smiles and nods when I geek out about something. And I return the favour when he is talking sport! But technically I bought it so it can totally make the list.

3. Afternoon with Mark Gatiss Signed Poster.
Last November Vicki and I attended a fundraiser for London Lesbian and Gay Switchboard. It was a hilarious QnA session hosted by the delightful Mr Gatiss. At the interval these lovely autographed posters were on sale to raise more money for LLGS. It was a brilliant afternoon and I'd highly recommend going if they do another one.

4. My buttons.
Ok so these were bought at a con on my behalf.... That counts right?! My gorgeous Internet and now real life gal pal Jackie bought me these lovely button badges from Wizard World In Philadelphia. Now they have pride of place on my back pack!

5. Olivier Awards Pencil.
Ok now I'm really stretching the boundaries of this Fandom 5..... But last April I attended the Olivier Awards which I really must blog about one day! It was a truly magical experience. So glamorous I was in heaven! Anyway they had a little shop in Covent Garden where I bought some little souvenirs including this pencil. That counts as merch right?!

Phew I made it! Just about! I hope you enjoyed reading my list of things that sort of count as things I bought at a Convention. Thank you as always to the ever so lovely Megan from The Nerdy Girlie and Krisin from Super Space Chick for starting the 5 Fandom Friday fun.

OOTD - Hogwarts House: Hufflepuff

Second in the series of outfits inspired by the colours and crests of the different Hogwarts houses. I was really pleased with how well received my Ravenclaw outfit was. Thank you for all your lovely comments.
Next up is Hufflepuff. I wanted this outfit to be simple with lots of fun accessories to bring across the character of a Hufflepuff.
I went for block colours of yellow blouse and black skinny jeans. The colours of Hufflepuff are so striking I didn't want to use a pattern. Plus I wanted to use a lot of accessories and didn't want to make it too over powering.
Hufflepuff is the most inclusive of the Hogwarts houses, I wanted to show this in my outfit. As each of the houses is associated with one of the four elements and I decided to use different pieces of jewellery to link to each element.
I wore a Rose Quartz necklace to represent Earth and Hufflepuff. A shell bracelet to represent Water and Slytherin. Feather earrings to represent Air and Ravenclaw. A sun ring to represent Fire and Gryffindor.
I added extra bracelets and rings to complete my look.
I kept the make up very day time and natural. Hardworking Hufflepuffs have little time for fancy make up!
So here is the look all together. Let me know what you think of my Hufflepuff look!
Much love

OOTD - Hogwarts Houses: Ravenclaw

This is the first in the series of outfits inspired by the colours and crests of the different Hogwarts houses. It's a project I've wanted to do for a while and now I've had the chance to get it organised! Hogwarts Crest from http://geijvontaen.deviantart.com/art/Hogwarts-Crest-373131825
My first outfit is a cute summery day look. I wanted to keep it preppy and smart, so a studious Ravenclaw can go straight from the library to lunch with the girls. Ravenclaw Crest from http://pottermore.wikia.com/wiki/File:Ravenclaw_Crest_1.png
Starting with my make up I am wearing blue eyeliner and bronze shimmer in keeping with Ravenclaw colours!
For my outfit I have got a navy blue denim skirt and light blue blouse with a bird pattern to echo the crest. They aren't Eagles but I get points for birds right!
To bring a bronze element into my outfit I added a statement necklace and cuff. I actually own any bronze jewellery and I'm a blogger on a budget. I've seen some stunning bronze necklaces on Etsy and as much as I love them I can't afford new jewellery at the moment. So I cheated a bit and used my antique gold. So shhhh don't tell anyone.

And here is my complete outfit.
I hope you like it and keep an eye out for my next house oufit post.

Much love

5 Fandom Friday - Favourite Aliens

Well this one had me stumped for a while.... Favourite aliens? Do I have a favourite alien? OF COURSE I HAVE A FAVOURITE ALIEN! Honestly sometimes I'm so silly. I blame the heat. It melted my brain. Once I got the ball rolling there was no stopping me. Thanks to Meghan Sara Karre for her brilliant post prompt here are my 5 favourite aliens.

1. The Doctor.
All time favourite alien best of the lot! He travels through time and space helping a lot and causing a fair amount of trouble too. Why do I love The Doctor so much?! His witty one liners. His cool ride. His epic fashion sense. His choice of companion. I could go on, but I think Steven Moffat said it best "When they created this particular hero, they didn't give him a gun, they gave him a screwdriver to fix things. They didn't give him a tank or a warship or an X-Wing Fighter, they gave him a call box from which you can call for help. They didn't give him a superpower or pointy ears or a heat ray, they gave him an two hearts. And that's an extraordinary thing; there will never come a time when we don't need a hero like The Doctor." Goosebumps everytime I read that quote. It's beautiful.

2. Superman.
Kal-El, Clark Kent, Superman. What a guy. Now I was a big New Adventures of Superman fan back in the 90's! That had a lot to do with my mega crush on Dean Cain. Christopher Reeves will always be my perfect Superman. He had both side of the character perfected; the geeky awkwardness of Clark Kent and the heroic and humble Superman. Superman comes to earth as a boy and is taken in and shown love and understanding. With his powers he could easily take over and rule the planet but he doesn't. He wants to help. He wants to fight for truth, justice and the American way.

3. Groot
I am Groot. Groot is initially perceived in the film as being a awkward character with low intelligence. But we soon find out he is a kick ass fighter and incredibly loyal. We also learn he is very emotionally intelligent and only needs three words to express himself because if you really listen you can sense his emotion behind the simple phrase. When I first watched Guardians of the Galaxy I did not think I'd be having a tear. Least of all because of a tree shaped alien that says I am Groot. But it's not what he says. It's how he says it that really gets you.

4. The Clangers
The Cutest little whistley aliens to ever live. I adored the Clangers when I was little and still do as a big kid. Now I'm not old enough to remember the original shows but I watched early Sunday morning repeats along with Bagpuss and The Herb Garden. Anyone?!?! They where cool little creatures who lived in a moon like planet and look like a cross between mice and ant-eaters dressed in Roman armour. God bless the 60's. They ate soup provided by the Soup Dragon of course and blue string pudding delicious! They spoke in cool whistles and if you listen to them you'll be doing it all day. If you fancy some nostalgia check out you tube for some classic Clangers action.

5. Little Green Men
The LGM hail from Planet Pizza.... Well the toy vending machine in which they worship the claw. They saw the claw as a Deity that took them to a better place! However the 3 little LGM we see in Toy Story now give their love and attention to their adopted parents Mr and Mrs Potato head. They are eternally grateful because Mr Potato head saved their lives. They are such funny happy little dudes. What is not to like about these little fellas!
I hope you enjoyed reading my list of favourite aliens. Thank you as always to the ever so lovely Megan from The Nerdy Girlie and Krisin from Super Space Chick for starting the 5 Fandom Friday fun.

Much love
